(USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin) -A 49-year-old Marshfield man was indicted this week on three counts of producing child pornography, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.Mark E. Bartz used a cellphone to produce videos of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct on three separate occasions, according to a news release from the United States Attorney's Office. The videos were made in June, July and September of 2017, according to the news release. Bartz faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in federal prison on each of the three counts if he's convicted, according to the news release. Bartz was charged in Clark County Circuit Court on Jan. 29 with repeated sexual assault of a child. Bartz was babysitting a baby boy when he had sexual contact with him six times in 2017, according to the Clark County criminal complaint.
The baby was 5 months old when the contact began, according to the complaint. Bartz also took video of the boy's 2-year-old sister, but he said he did not assault her because she didn't interest him sexually, according to court documents. Bartz told investigators he took the images of the girl because he knew he could trade them with other people interested in child pornography, according to court documents.
