Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Next School Year's Calendar

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed the next school year’s calendar at their meeting on Monday.The board had tabled this item at the January meeting in order to gather more input from the staff on proposed changes. A survey was created asking staff if they wanted to get out before Memorial Day or After. The vote was 11 before, 9 after, three voted either and 3 did not vote. Not hearing a clear direction, the board voted to approve the calendar as presented at the December and January meetings.
High School Principal Julie Van Ark informed the board that the move of 6th grade students from the elementary school to the junior high will be delayed for a year. The extra year would give time to get answers to questions around Title I services, how to build the master schedule, how this can be done in Skyward, the student information system, technology issues, gather student and staff input and investigate how this will impact the elementary school.
