Marshfield School Board Dropping Fees for the Summer

(WDLB) -Marshfield school officials are dropping fees for summer school. The Board of Education voted last night to discontinue charging fees for summer school courses, except for driver's education.Board member Amber Kiggens-Leifheit said summer school produces revenue for the district through reimbursements from the state, and the resources spent on keeping track of the money don't justify the charges.
Last year's total expenses incurred for summer school came in at nearly 439-thousand dollars. Of the 76 summer school courses offered, 16 of them has charged a fee.
