Marshfield Woman Facing Homicide Charges for Drug Overdose
Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 -- 10:18 AM
(WDLB) -A Marshfield woman already serving time for supplying the drugs that led to a fatal overdose will now stand trial in Marathon County for homicide charges.Cassandra Staab is facing first degree homicide charges stemming from the overdose death of Thomas Bychinski in July of 2017. The complaint against Staab says she supplied the heroin that Bychinski used the day he died, which was laced with fentanyl. Staab is already serving a three-year jail sentence for manufacturing and distributing the drug.
A Marathon County judge Monday ruled that prosecutors have enough evidence against Staab to justify a new trial on the homicide charges. A date for the trial has not been set, and she has not yet entered a plea.
