Village of Spencer Welcomes New A&W

(WDLB) -The village of Spencer celebrates its newest addition today.The Spencer Chamber is holding ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the new A-and-W restaurant, as it opens to the public for the first time, following a soft opening for friends and family over the weekend. Owner Dee-Ann Wells is opening her second location--this one on what had been an empty lot for many years at the corner of Pacific-and-Willow in Spencer. Wells said A-and-W ran some traffic count numbers and thought the new restaurant would be a good fit for the village. And she said it's pretty close to what the typical modern A-and-W restaurant looks like.
Wells opened her first A-and-W restaurant in Withee in March of 2016. She also owns and operates the Withee Mobile Mart, which she started in 1999. And she runs a feeder cattle farm just outside Withee as well. Wells is opening the new A-and-W in Spencer with 37 employees. The current hours of operation are 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. She'll says those hours will change from 10-to-10 for the spring and summer months.
