Tomorrow Final Day for Marshfield Residents to Choose Garbage/Recycling Containers

Monday, February 12th, 2018 -- 9:36 AM

(WDLB) -Tomorrow is the final day Marshfield residents can choose the size of their garbage and recycling containers, for a new collection system that goes on-line in April.

The city is working with Advanced Disposal of Central Wisconsin on what’s called an automated system, meaning refuse and recycling workers would not have to leave their trucks to collect those materials. City residents will get one wheeled cart for garbage, and another for recycling, which workers can empty from their trucks. And Marshfield residents can choose what size carts they want for both garbage and recycling. And the deadline to make that selection is tomorrow. Residents who don’t indicate a choice will automatically receive two 96-gallons containers be default. For those who desire a smaller size, 64-gallon and 35-gallon options are also available.

Carts are available for viewing at the library, city hall, the city garage or Advanced Disposal. For more information, or to make your selection, contact Advanced Disposal at 715-502-3565, or visit marshfieldads.com. Advanced Disposal will begin delivery of the new carts on April 10th, with the first collection date with the new carts scheduled for April 30th.
