Clark County Sheriff's Department Investigating Stolen Campaign Signs

-On February 6, 2018, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office received complaints of several campaign signs that are being stolen. The signs are in reference to the current race for Clark County Circuit Court Judge. They have been stolen from the Thorp, Loyal and Neillsville areas.Wisconsin state statue12.13 (3) (h) involving Prohibited Acts and Election Fraud, specifically addresses theft and/or damage to campaign signs.
It is prohibited to “Deface, destroy or remove any legally placed election campaign advertising poster with intent to disrupt the campaign advertising effects of any committee registered under ch. 11, or alter the information printed thereon so as to change the meaning thereof to the disadvantage of the candidate or cause espoused.”
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the complaints and would like your help.
