The Highground's 5th Annual Winter Bowl Fundraiser a Big Success

-Over $8,000 was raised during The Highground’s 5th Annual Winter Bowl fundraiser.The Winter Bowl was held Sunday, January 28th at Rose Bowl Lanes in Marshfield, with all lanes filled to the max with bowlers raising money for The Highground Veterans Weekend Retreat. The enthusiastic crowd enjoyed bowling and trying their luck at winning over $3,000 of raffle, silent auction and other prize items! Fritz Miller won the 50” VIZIO LED TV, donated by Hardee’s of Colby, Neillsville and Medford. In addition to the funds raised by the Winter Bowl, Dave Droste, representing Hardee’s, presented a check for $2,530 to Jon Weiler, Executive Director of The Highground. This check was from the Hardee’s Restaurants independently owned by Bowar Management, Cougar Enterprises, Inc., and Oshkosh Restaurants, Inc; which together have Wisconsin restaurants in Rice Lake, Prairie Du Chien, Medford, Colby, Neillsville, Oshkosh and also a location in Waukon, Iowa.
Another generous surprise at the Winter Bowl was a donation of a beautifully constructed wood chest presented to The Highground by the Ryan Larson American Legion Post #65, from Rome. This chest will be on a raffle at The Highground, with tickets available May 1st. The drawing for this and other items will be on Nov. 11th.
