(WDLB) -Marshfield officials are already gearing up for construction season. The city's Board of Public Works last night signed off on the state's plans for improvements along North Central Avenue this summer. City Public Works Director Dan Knoeck told the board the state is going to resurface Central between Arnold and Harrison, along what is technically Highway 97. Alderman Ed Wagner said the project is long overdue, and will go a long way with city residents, who've identified streets as one of their top concerns in recent years. Knoeck said the project will also include intersection improvements and new traffic signals at Arnold and Doege, along with left-turn lanes at Doege, and a few other improvements along the way.
Knoeck also said the state D-O-T had planned for a total reconstruction of that road earlier, but have since pushed it back. Knoeck also told the board that construction on the road will start in late July, after Farm Technology Days is held just west of Marshfield. He also said one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open during the resurfacing project.
