Owen Man Charged with Double Homicide Appears in Marathon County Court

-An Owen man charged in a double homicide in Abbotsford appeared in Marathon County Court on Wednesday.On January 20th, 26-year-old Tyler Zimmerman was suspicious that his fiancé, 21-year-old Cierra Hardath, was cheating on him. Zimmerman went to the home of a former boyfriend of Hardath and confronted her. He then fatally shot her. He also shot 25-year-old Duane Lopez Jr., killing him, and 18-year-old Megan Dupee. She was wounded and transported to Marshfield Medical Center for her injuries.
Zimmerman has been charged with 3 counts of 1st degree intentional homicide and 3 counts of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety. During his preliminary hearing, probable cause was found so his court proceedings will continue. He also entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. He remains in jail on a $1 million cash bond and he could spend the rest of his life in prison if he’s convicted on just one of the charges against him.
