Neillsville City Council Hears January Committee Reports

The Neillsville City Council heard the various city reports at their meeting on Tuesday.The council reviewed the items discussed/approved at the Planning Commission meeting from Thursday, January 18th. Both items were acted on during the regular Common Council meeting.
The council heard the Heritage Days Committee report from Thursday, January 18th. The committee discussed the band on Sunday, sponsorships, Miss Neillsville and more.
They heard the Beautification Committee report from Thursday, January 18th. They discussed 2018 decorations, purchasing new banners, color and plant ideas for the summer and more. They also discussed getting the community more involved with Neillsville’s decorations.
The council also heard the Library Board report from January 16th. The board discussed potentially raising the budget of board members, the resignation of a former member and appointing of a new member and afterhours programming. They also approved reinstating internet privileges for an individual, fundraisers, a story and story walk and more.
Finally, the board heard the public works report for the past couple weeks. The usual amount of work was done in the city including snow and ice removal, parks and equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, filling pot holes, maintaining street lighting and more.
