(WDLB) -An Owen man remains in the Marathon County jail in connection with a double homicide over the weekend.26-year-old Kyle Zimmerman made his initial appearance in Marathon County Circuit Court yesterday, charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, one count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and three counts of reckless endangerment. He remains jailed on a one-million dollar cash bond. Zimmerman is accused of shooting his fiancé, 21-year-old Cierra Hardrath, and 25-year-old Duane Lopez, Junior, at a home in Abbotsford early Saturday morning. Also shot was 18-year-old Megan Dupee, who called 9-1-1 to report the incident. Dupee was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Hardrath and Lopez were pronounced dead at the scene, which was located at 406 East Maple Street, Abbotsford.
Court documents indicate Zimmerman was suspicious that Hardrath was cheating on him. The shootings occurred at the home of Parker Knautz, a former boyfriend of Hardrath’s. Knautz and his five-year-old twin sons were home at the time the shootings took place, but they were not hurt. Police arrested Zimmerman outside the home a short time later. He’s facing life in prison if he is convicted on just one of the charges. A preliminary hearing is set for January 31st.
