Women's March Demonstrations Held Around Wisconsin

-Women’s March demonstrations took place in cities all over the country on Saturday including right next door in Eau Claire.Hundreds of people of gathered in Phoenix Park in downtown Eau Claire Saturday morning and heard from several speakers before marching to the Unitarian Universalist Church. There, those in attendance heard from more speakers and several informational workshops were held as we voter registration. The event itself was started by to Memorial High School students, Violet Kilmurray and Nazish Khan. Kilmurray said that even though the event is called the “Women’s March” all people who want to help fix and make the country better are welcome to be involved in the movement.
She went on to say that being patriotic means getting involved and not just accepting how things are if you believe they’re wrong. You need to stand up and change it. Both Kilmurray and Khan said organizing the event and seeing all the support has been very rewarding for them.
