Clark County Tourism Committee Ready to Kick Off 2018

-The Clark County Tourism Committee kicked off their first meeting of 2018, ready to bring more fun and events to the county.The committee heard a quick overview of the ongoing, county wide events like the Spring Into the Art Tour, with planning well underway, the Fall Harvest Moon Tour, the Bloomin’ Greenhouses and more. They also heard about some projects they hope to finish up soon including the documentation of the barns in Clark County, the Ghost Towns of Clark County, a Paddling the Black River Brochure, vacant store front signage and a community marketing project. They also heard about Youth Apprenticeships and the start of a Clark County Young Professionals group.
The group also heard from Jon Weiler, the new General Manager of The Highground. They reviewed the vast number of job openings in the county and focusing on the quality of life in Clark County. The reviewed the county sales tax numbers, which saw an increase over last year. Finally, they reviewed the unemployment numbers for the county and Wisconsin.
