Employment Matters at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the hiring of Cody Roman for a teaching assistant position, Jessica Brown for a middle school girls’ basketball coaching position and Jeremy LaMont for a play director position. They also approved the initial adoption of Policies EFC, EFC-A, EFC-B and EFC-C. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Scott Schiller reported on attendance, the holiday concerts, end of quarter on January 19th with no school, data meetings on February 6th, hearing and vision screenings and character awards on January 26th. High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, 2018-2019 school year scheduling, the FFA greenhouse project and All-Conference band and choir shows on January 20th.
He also reported on parent/teacher conferences, a winter formal on February 3rd, upcoming testing for grades 7-12 and a Youth Apprenticeship luncheon. Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on tax information from the Clark County Press, the annual AEF membership meeting and results of a state-to-state migration study. He also mentioned a news release on sparsity aid to school districts, an article addressing the decline in teacher unions in the state and three Focus articles.
