Granton Village Board Meeting

The Granton Village Board heard the Water Report at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, a resident at 414 Parkway complained to the village after several excessive quarterly water readings. The resident made every effort to control the water usage to no avail. There are 4 mobile home sites connected with one water line, T’d off for each mobile home. The village has checked several times for water leaks at this property and was finally able to determine that one of the water lines at the other site is leaking. The village contacted the land owner on the resident’s behalf and notified him of the issue. The land owner will contact a plumber to look into it. Water samples for the year were also done.
During the open forum portion of the meeting, the board heard from Sheila Nyberg, the Executive Director of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau. She wanted to address the board regarding the economic growth in Clark County and the opportunities available to Granton.
The increasing job availability in Clark County is improving the county’s economic value and the potential for growth. Sheila suggested an informational meeting to touch base with some interested individuals and to look ahead at promoting Granton’s future. The board chose to meet to discuss economic growth on February 15th at 7:00pm. Another resident asked to put up flyers regarding a speaker promoting his book on Alzheimers.
