Granton Village Board Hears Recycling Update

-The Granton Village Board heard a recycling update at their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, it was suggested the village could improve the recycling numbers. It was suggested they put in the News Letter that recycle bins are available at the village. The village also had a brief caucus meeting to decide the order of the members up for re-election this spring. The board also heard the Waste Water Report. The month was spent repairing and maintaining equipment in preparation of snowfall. For the Constable’s Report, it was mentioned that the boy’s home is down to 1 resident and it was requested they patrol a few evenings in an attempt to stop a car that has been speeding down K on a regular basis. For the Clerk’s Report, prep for 2018 has begun. Audit work is continuing and on track. There will be a February primary and property tax statements were sent out had approximately 100 payments have been received.
Finally, the board heard the Treasurer’s Report. The beginning balance in checking was $237,879.46 and ending balance $213,167.79. The beginning balance in the money market account was $373,009.45 and ending balance is $415,137.62 and includes tax payments from December.
