One Person Dead in Tractor vs. Vehicle Accident in Clark County

-One person is dead after the truck they were driving was involved in a crash on CTH GG by Bachelors Avenue in the Township of Hendren.The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of the crash at about 5:53 pm, on Wednesday January 10th, 2018. Initial investigation indicates a pick-up truck, being driven by Marilyn A. Ruppelt 57 yrs. old, was eastbound on CTH GG when her vehicle struck the rear end of a tractor being driven by William J. Kokaly 70 yrs. old that was also east bound. The truck came to rest in the east bound lane and the tractor stopped immediately after being struck.
William was transported by ambulance to the Neillsville Memorial Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Marilyn was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Carl. Speed and weather conditions appear to be factors in the accident. Marilyn was not wearing a seatbelt.
The Greenwood Area Fire Department and Ambulance Service responded to the scene with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Thorp Area Ambulance Service, Spirit Ambulance and Deputy Coroner Carl. The Investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office.
This is the 1st traffic fatality in Clark County for 2018.
