Greenwood School Board Discusses Open Enrollment

-The Greenwood School Board discussed open enrollment at their meeting on Monday.The board placed no limits on the number of Open Enrollment applications accepted into the School District of Greenwood for 2018-2019. The also approved some changes to the district’s course offerings and made some minor changes to graduation requirements. The board heard the District Administrators’ Reports. Dean of Students and Athletic Director Jenni Mayenschein provided a review of winter sport participation. A recap of the Talent Show/Santa Project event and UW-EC professor Justin Patchin’s presentation to grades 6-8 and 9-12 on social media were shared.
Elementary Principal Joe Green shard shared information about the Christmas caroling event from December 22nd. January 23 in-service day is approaching and staff will be continuing with training in the new math program, learning more about the many research materials in the LMC, and disaggregating data from the ACT practice test administered to juniors. Moving into the second half of the year, attention is shifting to preparing students for the many state assessments given in the spring.
