Marshfield School Board Taking Steps to Improve Communication
Thursday, January 11th, 2018 -- 8:00 AM
(WDLB) -The Marshfield School Board is taking a step toward improving communication between itself, and the district's teachers and administration. The Board of Education last night voted in favor of a new approach to the process of consultations between district administrators and members of the Marshfield Teachers Association, without violating state laws against formal negotiations that were abolished under ACT-10. Board President Marlene Steuland proposed a formal regular meeting between the two, which would allow for dialogue which members of the school board could sit in on.
Before the vote was taken, M-T-A President Kathleen Mahoney asked the school board for better lines of communication. The concept of a formal meeting will now be presented to the M-T-A. An agenda for such a meeting would be posted, and official minutes would be taken.
