Granton School Board Approves Certification of Members Up for Re-Election

-The Granton School Board approved the certification of their members up for re-election this spring.The board approved the certification of candidates Theresa Hasz and Paul Knoff. They also approved the number of spaces available for special education open enrollment and approved the plans for the remodeling of the locker room and lobby. Superintendent Scott Woodington provided the board with a preliminary calendar for the 2018-19 school year for Granton. Principal Julie Kolarik update the board on several items including Granton High School Juniors are in the midst of preparing for the February ACT Test during their homerooms/study lab and have the ability for additional prep on their computers and/or mobile devices beyond homeroom time. She also provided a big thanks from the staff at Granton Schools to A & B Process Systems. They provided a generous donation to some families of Granton students in the form of Festival Foods gift cards.
Also, Granton's Middle and High School students had an amazing holiday program during the last week of 2017. In addition to fabulous band and choirs, directed by Mrs. Krause and Mr. Anderson respectfully, Mrs. Chamberlin and the student council planned and ran several school spirit activities including a design, create, and compete a cardboard and duct tape sled competition. Finally, former Granton High School Agriculture teacher and current ACP Programmer/Coordinator, Cheryl Steinbach, is Granton's new National Honor Society's Advisor. Her first order of business is kicking off a "healthy kids" campaign with support from Granton's Rotary Club.
