(WDLB) -Marshfield city government will begin its move to a new location late this summer. That's what members of the Marshfield Common Council found out last night.Public Works Director Dan Knoeck told the Council that the city's move to the current Forward Financial Bank building at 207 West Sixth Street next door should start in mid-to-late August, and the renovation of the 24-thousand square-foot space will start in early April. The purchase price of Forward Financial's building comes in at two-point-six million dollars. The news comes as city officials continue to look for a buyer for the current City Hall Plaza. Meanwhile, Forward Financial is nearing completion on its 16-million dollar facility on the city's north side, near Burger King and Dunkin' Donuts.
Also last night, the Council approved the appointment of current city Planner Josh Miller as the new Development Services Director. Miller replaces Jason Angell, who left for a similar job north of Tucson in Arizona.
