Greenwood School Board Hears Administrators' Reports

Friday, December 22nd, 2017 -- 9:02 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

Elementary Principal Joe Green reported that Kids Club Afterschool Program will return on January 24th and registrations are currently being accepted for this program. “Books with B” is a new program where students get to read with Ms. Mayenschein’s therapy dog. Elementary students are also getting the opportunity to learn more about coding, which ties into education because of the problem solving relating to science and technology. Mr. Green also provided a follow-up on the SLATE conference that several staff members went to in early December.

District Administrator Todd Felhofer shared some political information regarding school districts with the board. A new Commission has been formed at the state level to study school funding and the district will need to adopt K-12 financial literacy standards Mr. Felhofer and Mr. Green will begin working on soon. Also, the Open Enrollment Billboard mock-ups were shared. One will be on the billboard on Hwy 73 south of Greenwood and the other will be on the west facing side of the billboard on Hwy 98 just east of 73.
