Greenwood School Board Hears Update on School Report Cards

Thursday, December 21st, 2017 -- 9:07 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard about the district’s school report cards at their meeting on Monday.

Both schools meet expectations and the district exceeds expectations. The board also received information regarding the ACT practice test given to juniors in November and how this information will be used and they also received an update on the expanded Youth Apprenticeship program at the high school. Over 25 students are enrolled in the program. The board was presented with several new Course Proposals and some new names for existing courses. The proposed changes would result in a change in graduation requirements. These proposals will be presented at the January Board meeting for final approval.

Finally, the board heard an update on the district’s football program. Middle school football will co-op with Loyal in the fall of 2018. High school football will continue as 11-man in the fall of 2018 and then the program will be assessed during the fall of 2018 to determine the future of the program; likely either moving to an 8-man program or entering into a co-op with another district.
