A direct primary care medical practice broke ground for a new facility in Abbotsford.

DOCTORS CARE · MD co-owned by Joan Hannula, M.D. and Jamie Barker, RN MSN will open its doors in late summer 2021 because they believe the people in their community deserve high-quality medical care that is more affordable and accessible.

Dr. Hannula, a board-certified family physician is passionate about forming strong relationships with her patients and delivering expert medical care. This relationship includes 24/7 access to the physician either in the clinic, by phone, text or e-mail.

Dr. Hannula and Ms. Barker are ecstatic about opening the medical practice and agree, “our passion led us here”. Their vision to open a Direct Primary Care medical practice with accessible and affordable care is a well-seasoned and established model.

DPC’s are rapidly growing across the U.S. because of the rising costs of health insurance, lack of cost transparency and the minimal time patients spend with their doctor.

DOCTORS CARE is an independent doctor’s office that does not accept insurance. Instead, similar to how gym memberships and monthly phone bills are paid, members of DOCTORS CARE pay a monthly fee to gain unlimited access to their primary care physician.
