Owen City Council Discusses Fire Department Budget and More

-The Owen City Council heard a report on the Fire Department’s budget at their meeting last week.After the report was given and several questions were answered, the budget for the department was approved. The council also approved the municipal audit contract and the preliminary 2018 budget report. Also, a representative from MSA explained the net change of $405.17 to the Lift Station #1 project and the council approved deducting $405.17 from the final pay-off on Lift Station #1 and to begin the one-year warranty.
Finally, it was stated the no-interest Clean Water Fund of $1,036,755 has been received. Of that amount, $624,000 qualifies for principal forgiveness. The council approved the final $93,894.83 payout to August Winter for the completion of Lift Station #1.
