Greenwood School Board Hears Administrators' Reports

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

Elementary Principal Joe Green provided an update on efforts to get students more active during recess. He also highlighted Ms. Reil’s 3rd grade classroom’s participation in the Global Read Aloud program. The Elementary Christmas Concert is scheduled for December 15th at 1:30 pm in the HS West Gym. A review of the new staff seminars and the October 20th In-service were also provided. High School Dean of Students and Athletic Director Jenni Mayenschein updated the Board on the Athletic Program-highlighting the on-going discussion regarding the future configuration of football. The 1-Act Play is heading to state competition on Friday November 17th.

Finally, District Administrator Todd Felhofer reported on some political items regarding Wisconsin Schools. He stated the cost of vouchers schools in Wisconsin is $270 million and the cost to Greenwood is $38,488. The hope for the additional Sparsity aid appears to be dead and a competitive bidding bill passed the Senate and still needs to pass the Assembly. The Annual Legislative Evening in Medford is scheduled for Monday March 5th. Finally, he stated the Certified Tax Levy was submitted to the DPI, he provided a review of the Fund Balance and why it’s important to maintain, Open Enrollment promotional billboards will again be developed and run from February to April, he provided an Electronic Sign update and a Parent-Teacher Conferences update.
