Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 -- 11:18 AM
-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a per diem increase at their meeting last week. The board approved a per diem of 70/100. This establishes that they are paid $70 for four hours or less of service and $100 for more than four hours of service per day. The amount of the per diem has increased a little over the years. Back in 1993, it was set at 40/60, increased to 60/80 in 1999 and then decreased to 50/80 in 2003 where it has remained. One board member felt that was too much of an increase, so he introduced an amendment to set the amount at 60/90, but it failed with 5 voting yes and 21 voting no. The resolution than passed as is, 20 yes and 6 no.
The board also approved the base wage agreement with Clark County represented employees. The agreement came to 1.84% base wage increase per consumer price index. It was approved 24 yes to 2 no. They also approved a 1.84% general base wage increase per the consumer price index for non-union employees with 23 voting yes and 3 voting no. The money for both increases is in the contingency fund.
