Clark County Workforce Council Holds Quarterly Partnership

-The Clark County Workforce Council held their quarterly partnership meeting on Monday.The council discussed a lot of programs, employment statistics and more at the meeting. Some programs mentioned include the Senior Community Service Employment Program, which matches senior workers to various positions available at different companies. They also talked about apprenticeships and working with the schools to offer those programs to students. The council also discussed Food Share Employment Training, Job Center Training, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity, Self-Advocacy Training, Job Recruitment, the IndianHead Action Agency and more.
They also talked about the number of jobs available in Clark County. There are around 400 jobs available now with an additional 250 available in the future. The unemployment rate is around 2.5%. They also discussed ways to bring in people to fill those jobs, employment barriers that the unemployed face and more.
