Neillsville City Council Approves New Administrative Assistant for the Neillsville Police Department

-The Neillsville City Council approved the hiring of a new Administrative Assistant at the Neillsville Police Department at their meeting yesterday evening.The item was first discussed at a Personnel Committee meeting held on November 6th. The hiring was approved then and forwarded to the City Council. The council than approved the hiring of Jill Kyle effective December 1st. She’ll begin at $16.00 an hour, increase to $16.50 after six months and increase to $17.00 after one year. The council also approved a request to place a headstone memorial bench at the city cemetery. And the approved the transfer and re-conveyance of graves from Lawrence Hansen and Virginia Brown. All three of those items were first approved at the Board of Cemetery Commissioners meeting held on November 13th.
Finally, the council approved the Dental Insurance renewal. There will be a slight increase of 1.3% to 1.4% in the various plans. They also approved the sale of 500 rounds of 10-year-old ammunition that causes issues with the Neillsville Police Department’s weapons. The sale of $280 for the ammo was approved, but the purchaser has to sign a liability waiver.
