-The Granton Village Board heard a phosphorous update at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, it was confirmed that they had not yet received the WPDES permit for waste water. Until the DNR completes that part, the village will have nothing more to do. MSA does not anticipate any cost for 2018 regarding phosphorous compliance. The village also reviewed, and approved, the 2018 Insurance policy. MPIC rates increased from $4,029 to $4,180. Spectrum Insurance increased from $14,864 to $15,195. The village reviewed, and approved, the 2017 Hawkins Ash Audit Contract. Rates increased $16,145.50 to $16,330.
Finally, the board heard a request from a resident regarding an ordinance exception so he could own three dogs. His old dog had a puppy and he would like to keep her. The village noted that there have never been any complaints regarding his dogs running at large, barking or causing any problems in town. The board approved allowing him to have a 3rd dog.
