Merillan Man Sentenced for Sexual Assault of a Child

-A Merillan man was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Wednesday for sexually assaulting two minors.Back in 2016, a victim came forward and reported that the 53-year-old man sexually assaulted them between the ages of 4 and 18. A second victim came forward and also stated they were sexually assaulted beginning at 4-years-old. The man pleaded guilty to 2nd degree sexual assault of a child. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 8 years of extended supervision. He must also register as a sex offender.
