(WDLB) -A group of Marshfield parents says their children were bullied at Lincoln Elementary, and school district officials have turned a blind eye to the problem. One by one, a handful of parents took their turns speaking to the Marshfield Board of Education, during its monthly meeting last night. Kristina Howey talked about a lack of support from district administrators, as she brought to light her concerns. Sheila Miller told board members her child endured numerous accounts of bullying, before she removed her child from Lincoln Elementary last year. Kay Langjahr said she has sent the school board a number of letters the past two months concerning the safety of Lincoln Elementary. Julie Strey also said she withdrew her son from Lincoln Elementary because of the ongoing bullying that goes on there.
Several Lincoln staff members and a few other parents of students there did speak in support of the school and its learning and positive social environment. The School Board did not respond to the testimony and feedback given last night, nor did the board members take any formal action regarding the issue.
