Farm Commodity Prices for September

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin during September was $3.25 per bushel, according to the USDA's Agricultural Prices report.This was down seven-cent from August, but up 12-cents from the previous September. The soybean price, at $9.27 per bushel, was down seven-cent from both August and the previous September. Oats averaged $2.59 per bushel, 25-cents more than last month and $1.22 above last year.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $106.00 per ton in September, up $14.00 from August and $24.00 more than September 2016. The alfalfa hay price averaged $119.00 per ton, up $22.00 for the month and $31.00 for the year. The other hay price averaged $70.00, down $9.00 from August, but up $11.00 from 2016.
