More Info on Weekend Shooting in Black River Falls

-The Wisconsin Department of Justice has stated that a suspect killed during an officer involved shooting had a gun.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy was asked to investigate a disorderly conduct and possible restraining order injunction violation early Saturday morning in Black River Falls on Winneshiek Circle the last weekend in October. According to the Wisconsin DOJ, Deputy Justin Wathke tried to pull over the suspect, 27-year-old Lucas DeFord, but DeFord refused to stop. When he arrived at the residence that had called the authorities about the restraining order violation, he got out of his vehicle and had a gun.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation is taking the lead in the investigation. Other agencies assisting with the incident include the Black River Falls Police Department, Village of Merrillan Police Department, Clark County Sheriff's Office, and Wisconsin State Patrol.
