Clark County Has Successful Clean Sweep Event

-The Clark County UW-Extension Office, in partnership with several other departments, had a very successful Clean Sweep Event in September.There were 122 households, 21 farms, 2 government entities, 1 ag business, 4 non-ag businesses, and 3 schools participate in the event. They collected 4,109lbs of Hazardous Household Waste, which was up from 3,720lbs in 2015, and 1,605lbs of Agricultural Waste, which was up from 1,318lbs in 2015. In addition, they collected 450 fluorescent light bulbs, 188 TVs, 6 copiers, 57 monitors, 40 appliances with coolant, 41 microwaves, along with computers and batteries.
The 2017 Clean Sweep was a collaborative effort among several Clark County departments including: UW-Extension, Public Health, Forestry and Parks, Highway Department, Emergency Management, Aging and Disability Services, Land Conservation, Planning and Zoning, and Sheriff’s Department.
