Owen City Council Hears from Clark County Sheriff

-The Owen City Council and residents present heard from the Clark County Sheriff at their meeting last week.Sheriff Greg Herrick introduced himself to the Council and those in attendance. Sheriff Herrick reported that his department is present in Owen and Withee. Herrick also asked if anyone had any concerns for his department. One resident reported he had to put added security to protect his belongings and another mentioned cars are still speeding out of town on N. Paul Avenue. Another resident questioned the progress of his complaint against Owen’s former police chief and another questioned if the Council will be hiring soon.
During a closed session part of the meeting, the council also voted to not accept any severance agreements with the former police chief and they will accept a resignation from him if it’s dated by November 20th. They also voted to extend his administrative leave for 30 more days.
