(USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin) -Downtown Marshfield businesses are getting a boost. The Marshfield Convention & Visitors Bureau was awarded a $18,000 grant as part of a multi-year marketing and rebranding project aimed at exploring the area’s tourism attractions last week. The Marshfield CVB joined with the town of McMillan and village of Spencer to complete a one-week assessment aimed at evaluating and understanding the area’s needs and assets for future marketing.
Tourism expert Roger Brooks conducted the week-long assessment in spring evaluating Marshfield’s marketing materials, advertising, website, travel guide and visitor information services, according to a press release from the Marshfield CVB. He also hosted a community workshop at the end of May to identify possible tourism development opportunities. Grant funds will go toward the cost of the research assessment.
