Neillsville City Council Hears Public Works Report

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, preparing some equipment for storage, trimming and pruning trees, street sweeping, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, mowing and mulching and more. They department is continuing to work on tree removal in regards to the DNR grant to help fight the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer. They have 66-67 trees down, as of Tuesday, and have about 20 or so to go. It was also mentioned that leaf pickup won’t begin until Friday of this week or Monday of next week. Finally, it was mentioned that the Sewer Department had the sludge storage tank emptied this past week and the Water Department is having troubles with some equipment that could end up being a costly fix if they can’t repair the problem on their own.
