Owen-Withee School Board Hears Update on WASB Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard an update on a meeting happening tonight to begin their meeting on Monday.Board members Rick Eloranta, Kim Amacher, Charlie Milliren, Angela Greschner and District Administrator Bob Houts have been registered to attend the WASB Regional Meeting in the Wausau area tonight. The group will leave school at 4:45 PM and return by 9:30pm. Also, at the September regular meeting, the board expressed interest in looking at alternative methods of compensating the teaching staff that go above and beyond the classroom and fill some of the needed positions the district has.
Mr. Houts distributed the Colby model which many on the board found to be intriguing and a solid base for what the district might want to do. An ad hoc committee consisting of board members Charlie Milliren, Angela Greschner and Kim Amacher will work with Mr. Houts to investigate the possibilities and report back to the board.
