-The Neillsville School Board approved the district’s tax levy at their meeting on Monday. The district will see a Fund 10 levy of $3,679,093. When you subtract the $75,000 in Fund 75, community service, and add $3,732 from Wisconsin Act 59 or computer aid, you get a Levy $3,754,093. That equals to a mill rate of $7.53 per $100,000 of equalized value. Some other important numbers include the district having 936 Full Time Equivalent students, which has decreased a onetime declining enrollment aid of $110,655, which is less than last year and will be even lower next year. The district receives $9,221.28 per pupil.
The district has a revenue limit of $8,875,589 and received $5,192,764 in general state aid. The state aid is a decrease from last year, which is due largely to the fact that most school aid money goes towards property tax relief and the voucher schools took a large chunk of money as well. Larger school districts also take a big majority of that money.
