Neillsville School Board Approves the Creation of Fund 46

Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 -- 8:02 AM

-The Neillsville School Board approved the creation of a Fund 46 for the district through CESA 10.

A Fund 46 allows the district to invest money from the regular budget and use it for future maintenance and remodeling projects. There’s no obligation on how much is put in, but one stipulation is that you can’t withdraw the money for 5 years after its creation. This fund would be similar to Fund 73, which is the retirement fund. As that fund is almost full, this new fund would allow them to use leftover money for the purpose of improvements. In order to have this created, they must do a facility study and have a plan completed and sent to the state. The cost of that is $3,600.

The board also approved an out-of-state field trip to the Dorian Music Festival in Iowa in January. They approved a foreign exchange student from Switzerland in the 2nd semester and they approved a $2,000 donation to the Junior Achievement program.
