Spencer Woman Sentenced for Adding Substances to Boss' Coffee

-A Spencer woman accused of adding several substances to her boss' coffee in order to make him ill so he’d forget about a loan he gave her was sentenced on Monday.The substances included eye drop solution, water pills, caffeine pills and anti-anxiety medication. The victim, the woman’s boss, noticed something was wrong when he had high spike in his blood sugar and saw a slimy substance at the bottom of his cup. The man put a motion censing camera in his office and caught Karen Zenner in the act. Zenner admitted to authorities that she tried to make her boss ill so he’d forget about the $2,000 loan he had given her.
Zenner pleaded guilty to a charge of placing foreign objects in edibles. She was sentenced to 3 years’ probation with a condition of 9 months jail time.
