Fun Events at the Neillsville Public Library

Monday, October 16th, 2017 -- 11:05 AM

-The Neillsville Public Library has some fun events happening.

Starting at 5:30pm on Tuesday, October 24th, the library will have after hours readers apps. However, that event is full, so, unfortunately, they can’t accept any more people. But they do plan on having another in November. On Wednesday, October 25th starting at 5:30pm, they’ll have card making. Rachel McBride will help you make cards from photos. Patrons are more than welcome to bring their own photos to use. No bigger than 4X6. Again, sign up in the library. On Sunday, October 29th, the library will be open for special hours from 9:30am-11:30am. They’ll have their Haunted Wisconsin with Chad Lewis presentation. Chad will talk about the bizarre history of Wisconsin and strange stories from our past. They’ll also have Adult Coloring on Monday, October 30th. The Neillsville Public Library is also part of the Wisconsin State Science Festival this year.

So, to commemorate that, on November 3rd at 10:30am, they will host a special story hour for kids learning about pond ecosystems. They’ll have stories, crafts, treats and a game for kids to learn about ponds. Then on November 4th at 10am, they’ll have Professor Glen Stanosz of UW-Madison, an expert on tree and forest health, coming to speak about fungi and forest ecosystems. He also studies tree diseases caused by fungi and has provided consulting services for various forest management programs. All these events are free and open to the public and if you have any questions or would like more information, you can contact the Library Director at 715-743-2558.
