Granton Village Board Hears Waste Water Report

-The Granton Village Board heard the Waste Water Report at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board reviewed the Waste Water Report. Air filters for the blower were ordered, Waste Water operator discharged for 1 week, they worked on mapping water and sewer lines, the cemetery is cleaned up for fall, water was turned off at the concession stand, sand was placed on the pitching mound and reshaped, 2nd street was sprayed with calcium chloride and the porta potties were cleaned out. Also, the generators were exercised, a battery blew up and the blower belt was replaced on well 4. One of the Village’s work force development kids broke his wrist when the roll bar on the mower caught the Xcel power line. The Xcel pole was so old it snapped off and fell pinching the workers wrist between the pole and the roll bar. Another employee escorted the worker to urgent care and the clerk notified Workforce and all the paper work was submitted.
The board also heard the Treasurer Report. The beginning balance in checking was $101,696.40 and ending balance is $74,485.45. Beginning balance in the money market account was $370,859.38 and the ending balance is $372,573.47. The Library funds are $31,643.74. The board also approved the poll workers for next year’s elections and they include Joyce Steinbach, Dawn Dahlke, Jeanine Drinsinger, Bev Lavey, Caroline Helm, Lori Dunn, Cheryl Young, and Margaret Fisher as poll workers for the 2018-2019 elections. Budget planning for Granton is scheduled for October 19th.
