-The Granton Village Board heard an update on the Parkview Campground at their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the Registration station was built by ESE, the registration envelopes were designed and delivered, ATV route signs were designed and delivered, the slab for the covered picnic table had been installed with a grill, the tent area of the campground was leveled off and reseeded and quotes for the campground sign were received. The board decided the sites should be numbered and not lettered. The board also heard a library update, which included 2018 budget information and upcoming events. They heard the Water Report. Both valves for the tower were replaced. The tower was drained on Tuesday October 10th. The clerk called everyone on Parkway to advise water would be shut off for a few hours. The DNR was notified. The valves were replaced and the tower was at 17 feet by the evening. Bac T Water samples were sent to Marshfield and once approved, the tower will be back online.
The Hydrant and hydrant valve on Parkway may need to be replaced. It appears to have a crack in the barrel or the tube. Finally, the board reviewed the Constable Report outlining the month’s activities to include a resident being locked out of house, temp plates issued, 2 calls to the group home, a 911 call from kids playing with a cell phone, skinny dippers in the pond, a 12 year old on an ATV, several dog complaints and several thefts reported.
