Saturday, October 14th, 2017 -- 7:13 AM

-The Neillsville City Council heard several Finance Committee Reports at their meeting on Tuesday.

As the city continues to work on the budget, the finance committee reports from last week were reviewed. The council reviewed the report from October 3rd. They began with the Public Works Budget. Public Works saw a substantial increase in their budget from $871,351 in 2017 to $967,361 in 2018. The biggest increases were in the machinery and equipment and curb and gutter lines of the budget. The street projects were broken down by individual costs. They also heard the airport budget. The budget for the airport increased from 2017’s $25,248 to 2018’s $26,595. The airport outlay budget remained the same at $5,000.

The Cemetery budget increased from 2017’s $72,058 to 2018’s $80,652. The biggest reason for the increase was in the vehicles line of the budget. The Parks budget increased from 2017’s $62,452 to 2018’s $71,174. The reason for that increase was the equipment line of the budget. The Beautification budget stayed at $1,700, Heritage Days stayed the same at $1,500, Historic Preservation stayed the same at $1,900. They ended the meeting by hearing about the Net Taxi Service placed on the City Tax Levy.
