Neillsville City Council Reviews Finance Committee Reports

-The Neillsville City Council heard several Finance Committee Reports at their meeting on Tuesday.As the city continues to work on the budget, the finance committee reports from last week were reviewed. On October 2nd, the committee began with the Fire Department budget. The requested a budget of $233,656 for 2018 which was more than 2017’s $227,410. The biggest increases came from the salaries line of the budget. The Fire Hall budget for 2018 is $4,371, which is a small increase over last year’s $4,362. The committee also heard the Police Department’s budget for 2018 which came to $73,213 compared to last year’s $72,113. The increase came from the uniforms and equipment line of the budget.
The committee ended the October 2nd meeting with the Ambulance and City Attorney budgets. The ambulance will see a slight increase in 2018 with $13,450 compared to 2017’s $13,431. The city attorney has a budget of $28,990 for 2018 compared to 2017’s $28,600.
