Greenwood School Board Hears Administrators' Reports

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

District Administrator Todd Felhofer reported that Homecoming festivities went well. Student Council will be evaluating the various activities then meeting with administration to discuss Homecoming 2018. The MS/High launched the new RICE (Reteach, Intervene, Correct, Enrich) period on October 2nd. Mr. Helsten and Mr. Moseley were honored at the 2017 Crystal Apple Award Dinner on October 4 in Marshfield. The 3rd Friday Enrollment report was submitted to the state with Greenwood having 426 students. Also, the board received notice that the district met all requirements of Part B of IDEA, the district will receive a site visit from CRC in late April, the board was provided Policy Update Vol 26 No 2 with the first reading at the next month’s board meeting and the board heard when the next two meetings are.

Finally, Mr. Felhofer reported on political items affecting districts. He stated that the good news is that the Legislature has passed the budget but there are several proposed bills being discussed that could affect schools including concealed carry on school grounds, changes in competitive bidding, teacher protection bill, and altering Wisconsin Family Medical Leave Act benefits.
