Clark County Board of Supervisors Hears 2018 Budget Presentation

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard several reports at their meeting on Monday.The board heard the 2016 Audit Report and they heard an Enbridge Update from two representatives as the company continues to look at the possibility of a new pipeline, which would be near the northern end of the county. The board also heard the 2018 budget presentation for Clark County. The county is projected to have a mil rate of 8.06 for 2018, which is slightly less than last year. The budget for 2018 is $79,824.483. After revenues of $57,099,301 and a fund balance transfer of $6,501,185 are applied, a tax levy of $16,223,997 will be needed to balance next year’s budget.
The budget also includes $7.5 million for expansions and renovations to the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, the continued Public Communications Project Upgrade, more money to technology in the county and $1.8 million borrowed to do 10.6 miles of county roads. The board also approved the second reading of the Records Retention Policy.
